I feel that over the course of my life, I’ve become very self-aware of who I am. I feel accepting of my nature, though of course, there's always more to learn. Today, as part of my business setup, I completed a test that identified me as an Advocate. My Traits:

  • Introverted – 55%
  • Intuitive – 66%
  • Feeling – 73%
  • Judging – 72%
  • Assertive – 63%
    Role: Diplomat
    Strategy: Confident Individualism

Advocates are the most likely personality type to:

  • Enjoy “people watching”
  • Have fears they know are irrational
  • Say modern human beauty standards are unrealistic
  • Go to great lengths to avoid stress
  • Re-read an e-mail after sending it

Yep, I know all of this. In other tests, I've been called a peacemaker and rescuer, and my career choice suits my type. But why do I need to know this? Because it helps me know myself more intimately, so I can unpick the tapestry of what I've created that doesn't serve me, and re-stitch it with what will. For instance, my long career in the NHS conflicts with my advocacy nature. I struggle to say no, so I end up taking on the burden of the world and burning out. That’s why I left my current position and am now working as a transient nurse for a while. This transient role does fulfill me, but deep down, I know I strive to create a work environment driven by my own personality. I want to give in a way that suits both the receiver and myself.
